Book Release and Outdoor Art Show

It’s done! I photographed from Jan of 2013 – Nov 2013. I have been scanning, retouching, editing and staring constantly at images of people and their bikes ever since then and I can finally, proudly say…..

Please join me on Friday May 30th : 6-10pm on the corner of River and State St., Troy, NY. – One night only, outdoor art show! The self published book, We Love Bikes, by Carrie Will with an essay by Amy Halloran, will be debuted and available for purchase and images from the project will be projected outdoors with the help of a bike powered generator.

We Love Bikes is a photo-based art project documenting the growing bike community all around the Capital Region. The project is simple: portraits of people and their bikes. This project was made possible through a generous grant from the New York State Council for the Arts (NYSCA) and the Art Center of the Capital Region. The photographs were taken between January and November of 2013. All images were taken with a 4×5 view camera and much of the transportation done for this project was done on a bike with camera equipment trailing behind.

Carrie Will is a fine art photographer and a New York native. Her work has been exhibited nationally as well as internationally and is in numerous collections including the SUNY Art Museum (Albany, NY) and the Smithsonian American Art Museum (Washington, DC).

Don’t miss this unique art exhibition. Around 40 people were photographed for this project. All images will be displayed during this event. Riding a bike to this exhibition is strongly encouraged.
Attendees on bikes will receive 10% discount on books.
Images will be projected once it is dark enough outside, roughly 7:30-10 pm. (the darker it is the better it will look)
